Ok while I am waiting for my computer to repartition its harddisk, let me continue on the Story of Fresbo ...

Last post, I mentioned about the funding pitch to get funds for Fresbo. Obviously, it didn't went through. So what's next, I thought? I got no money, no experience, no complete team, and I want to build a virtual world. Logically speaking, looking at the situation, giving up and get a job seems like a more viable choice. Come back a few years later, with more money, experience and take the time to find a complete team ... logically ... yes logically that is what I should do ... However, if only all things can be solved simply by logic ...

Intuition and gut feeling ... powerful stuff that you cannot ignore. Deep in my guts, I know that giving up is simply a bad choice. I just have a prediction and feeling that somehow, Fresbo will turn out to be fine and we will have a successful product eventually. Logically, I just don't know how that can happen, but intuitively I know that it will definitely happen.

So armed with my gut feeling, I stayed on. But more immediate concern is, how I am going to feed myself next month without a stable income? Then somehow one day while waiting for bus at a bus stop, I met a friend and he recommended me to this company who is hiring freelancers to do web projects. Again somehow amazingly, I got the project and solve this income issue. It is not alot of money but it buys me some time to do Fresbo work, comparing to working full-time.

Next problem is artist. We are creating a game, and yet we don't have an artist. Do I know any artists in my whole life? Nope, not a single one. So one day, while surfing web, I posted in this forum, which I forgotten what forum it was, looking for artists to join our team. Then somehow, marukochan appear like a knight in shining armor, sending me beautiful sketches of characters that she had drawn, solving our artist problem.

Then came along Zhongwei. A friend of mine came to know that I am doing a startup and he asked me if I needed more people cause he know of a guy who is interested in starting a company too. So we met up with Zhongwei and thats how you guys get your Flash, he is the lead programmer for the Flash client.

So the team is made up of me, Vincent, Zhongwei and marukochan. Next is office space. Of course we cannot afford one right now. So I converted my room into an office space, and we started working from there. Every morning, Vincent and Zhongwei will knock on my window, and I will wake up to open door, and a day's work begins. This mode of working lasted for a year. And it is also in my bedroom, that I named and created the HADES server technology needed to power our virtual world.

Whenever someone comes along and offer me their very "intelligent" analysis of a situation, which often runs complete opposite of my intuition, these naive immature fools know nothing. There is no definite 1+1=2 in life. If it is as simple as that, then all problems will definitely have a clear formula step-by-step solution, and life will be all easy. It is strange to hear that from a programmer, who is dealing with if-else structures everyday, but I am glad I had the guts to follow my intuition so far.

And yes ... my harddisk is still partitioning ...
